Camp concluded today, and we have a few more tidbits to pass along.
After a strong performance on Tuesday, West Monroe athlete Paul Turner (pictured) earned an offer from Les Miles. Reportedly, LSU wants Turner as a wide receiver which is a bit of a surprise but I have no doubt that Turner can play on offense at the next level. I’ll pat myself on the back a bit and remind everyone that Turner was my “pick to click” prior to the start of camp. Turner did not commit to LSU, but the Tigers are the clear leader for the West Monroe star and I expect a commitment is just a matter of time. For what it’s worth, Turner is really outstanding at running the option and would be fantastic in a Wildcat set.
Despite being unable to work out due to an injury, the LSU staff offered East St. John defensive back Floyd Raven on Wednesday. I think that Raven will be a LSU commitment before the end of the summer. If you are one that is concerned with recruiting rankings, expect Raven to shoot up the rankings as the summer ends.
Benton safety T.K. Fleming reportedly had a good workout. He also met with Les Miles and toured all of the facilities. He still holds and offer from LSU. Fleming did not commit on his visit but did say that LSU is his clear favorite right now.
West Monroe defensive tackle Chuck Hunter left LSU without receiving an offer.
Look for my updated state rankings to be posted tomorrow night. I rank the top 35 prospects in the state.
Another day has passed and another school is having their players investigated for improper contact with an agent. This time, the Georgia Bulldogs are the target.
Just keep crossing your fingers that LSU is not the target of the NCAA tomorrow.
